Summary:
The Operational Accounting Manager oversees accounting functions for the Perkins Loan Servicing Program, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with FSA requirements. This position manages reconciliation, reporting, and process controls.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct accounting operations, including payment reconciliation and loan adjustments.
Maintain compliance with FSA, NIST, and relevant federal regulations.
Prepare financial reports and monthly reconciliations (trial balances, etc.).
Collaborate with teams to address financial discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
Leverage automated reconciliation tools and AWS platforms for efficiency.
Implement quality control measures to prevent accounting errors.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP, federal regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Possess 3 years of related experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Proficiency with financial reporting systems and reconciliation tools.
Proven experience in accounting management within loan servicing or finance.
- Possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Possess a CPA
