Summary:
Goldschmitt and Associates is looking for a Proposal Writer who’s experienced with federal proposals, deeply skilled in technical writing, and adept in the Shipley methodology. The Proposal Writer crafts compelling, compliant narratives that speak with a unified voice, independently manages workload, conducts SME interviews, structure content, and supports G&A’s win strategies throughout the proposal lifecycle.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work to identify and write content for RFx responses
- Craft compelling proposal narratives that synthesize both existing content and new inputs from SMEs, in alignment with strategic proposal objectives
- Contribute to proposal solutioning and strategy development sessions, asking clarifying questions to proactively guide content development
- Own proposal content development for distinct RFx sections, from ideation to final review, potentially contributing to the review process when needed
- Incorporate updated content based on reviewer feedback and preparing final submission materials.
- Independently gather information from identified SMEs, lead interviews to extract technical details, and transform them into reader-focused, evaluator-centered content when needed
- Ensure “one voice” consistency across sections, harmonizing contributions from multiple authors into a seamless narrative
- Review final proposal documents for editing and content completeness
- Manage tight deadlines and independently managing your time with multiple assignments
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to the above responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with sharp attention to grammar, style, tone, and formatting.
Strong ability to interpret and translate complex technical content into persuasive, compliant proposal narratives.
Demonstrated capability to maintain consistent voice and messaging across proposal volumes.
Skilled in developing storyboards or annotated outlines and building narrative with compliance and scoring in mind
Self-starter mindset, capable of managing workload, shifting priorities, and meeting inflexible deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in federal proposal experience with emphasis on writing, or at least three years of proposal writing experience with prior experience in technical writing or reporting
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or additional equivalent experience in a related position in lieu
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
Shipley methodology training or certification
Familiarity with government procurement and federal RFP compliance.
Comfortable working remotely, collaborating via virtual meetings and digital platforms
