Summary:

Goldschmitt and Associates is seeking a Vice President of Solutions Engineering and Technology to provide senior technical leadership across our federal programs, customer initiatives, and commercial software products.

This role leads the development of technology solutions for complex business, operational, and mission challenges. The Vice President works directly with customers, program leaders, product teams, technical architects, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, evaluate existing environments, design future-state solutions, and guide initiatives from concept through implementation.

The position combines executive-level technical leadership with hands-on solution engineering. The successful candidate must be able to move comfortably between customer conversations, business processes, system workflows, application and integration design, cloud architecture, security considerations, and implementation planning.

This is broader than a traditional cloud architecture or DevOps role. The Vice President will evaluate how people, processes, applications, data, infrastructure, security requirements, and external systems work together and develop practical solutions that can be successfully implemented and operated in complex enterprise and federal environments.

The position supports both Goldschmitt technology initiatives and billable customer engagements, including modernization efforts, external-facing portals, secure-system integrations, workflow design, cloud solutions, enterprise integrations, technical discovery, and complex cross-system initiatives.

This position is part-time and remote, and the anticipated hourly rate is $125.00 per hour.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Solutions Engineering and Technical Leadership
  • Lead solution engineering for complex customer, product, and enterprise technology initiatives
  • Translate business, mission, and operational challenges into practical technical solutions and implementation approaches
  • Provide senior technical leadership from initial discovery and concept development through design, implementation, deployment, and operational transition

  • Develop and communicate solution concepts that span applications, cloud infrastructure, data, APIs, cybersecurity, integrations, workflows, and user experience
  • Evaluate technical alternatives and make recommendations based on security, scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, cost, usability, and operational requirements
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, constraints, and integration challenges early and develop approaches to address them
  • Provide technical leadership during complex implementations and help resolve issues that cross organizational, system, or technology boundaries
  • Establish and promote effective solution engineering practices, reusable approaches, and technical standards
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, architects, developers, DevOps personnel, and other technical team members
Customer Technical Consulting
  • Serve as a senior customer-facing technical leader and trusted consultant for Goldschmitt customers and partners
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, design workshops, solution-development sessions, architecture discussions, and technical reviews

  • Facilitate discussions among business users, government stakeholders, system owners, cybersecurity teams, architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and other technical participants
  • Develop and present architecture diagrams, workflows, solution concepts, technical roadmaps, integration approaches, and implementation recommendations
  • Help customers identify opportunities for modernization, automation, improved workflow, system integration, and operational efficiency
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Support customer presentations, demonstrations, proposals, statements of work, technical estimates, and solution development for new and existing programs
Workflow, Integration, and Secure-System Solutions
  • Analyze complex operational processes and design future-state business and system workflows
  • Design solutions that connect users, applications, processes, data, and systems across organizational and technical boundaries
  • Lead solution design for external-facing portals and applications that interact with secure or restricted enterprise environments
  • Define secure approaches for exchanging information between externally accessible applications and protected internal systems
  • Design system boundaries, data flows, integration points, authentication approaches, authorization models, APIs, interfaces, and supporting workflows

Application and Product Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with Goldschmitt's Director of Technical Architecture, product leadership, and development teams on application and platform initiatives
  • Translate customer and product requirements into solution-level designs that can be implemented by application development teams
  • Participate in application design decisions involving APIs, integrations, authentication, authorization, data flows, workflow, infrastructure, and external services
  • Work with technical architecture and development leadership to ensure solution designs are practical, maintainable, secure, and aligned with established product architecture
  • Support integration between Goldschmitt applications and customer, partner, commercial, legacy, and federal systems
  • Provide solution-level guidance while partnering with technical architecture and development leadership responsible for detailed application architecture and backend implementation
  • Help bridge the gap between customer requirements, product strategy, solution architecture, cloud infrastructure, and software engineering

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
