Summary:
Goldschmitt is seeking a Project Manager for COTS Product Implementations.
The Project Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end implementations of a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software product for external customers. This role owns delivery execution — from kickoff through go-live and transition to operations — ensuring implementations are completed on time, within scope, and aligned to customer requirements.

This is a delivery-oriented role requiring strong coordination skills, technical fluency, and the ability to actively manage vendors, internal teams, and customer stakeholders. The Project Manager is accountable for execution, risk management, and customer outcomes — not just reporting status.

This position is remote with preference given to candidates who live within a commutable distance to the DMV area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementation & Delivery Management
    • Lead full lifecycle COTS implementations including planning, configuration, integration, data migration, testing, training, and go-live support
    • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource assignments
    • Drive day-to-day execution to keep projects moving and remove blockers
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer project teams throughout implementation
    • Lead project kickoffs, working sessions, status reviews, and go-live readiness meetings
    • Translate customer business needs into clear implementation plans and coordinate with technical teams
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Coordinate internal teams including product, engineering, configuration specialists, QA, security, and support
    • Manage third-party vendors, system integrators, and customer-provided resources as required
    • Ensure alignment between product capabilities and customer expectations
  • Risk, Issue, and Change Management
    • Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies; develop and execute mitigation plans
    • Manage scope, schedule, and change requests to avoid uncontrolled expansion or delivery delays
    • Escalate issues appropriately with clear recommendations and impact analysis
  • Quality & Readiness
    • Ensure implementation deliverables meet quality standards and contractual requirements
    • Oversee UAT planning and execution; track and drive defect resolution
    • Confirm operational readiness prior to go-live, including documentation, training, and handoff to support
  • Reporting & Governance
    • Provide clear, concise project status reporting (schedule, risks, issues, decisions needed)
    • Maintain project documentation, artifacts, and implementation records
    • Support internal governance, compliance, and customer reporting requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong project planning and execution skills (not just methodology knowledge)
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity, dependencies, and shifting priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of system integrations, data migration, testing cycles, and release management
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of project management experience delivering enterprise software implementations
  • Demonstrated experience managing COTS product implementations (SaaS or on-prem)
  • Experience working directly with external customers in delivery-focused roles
  • Proven track record of taking implementations from kickoff to production
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery models as appropriate to implementation scope
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing COTS products in regulated environments (e.g., federal, financial services, healthcare)
  • PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification (valued, but not a substitute for real delivery experience)
  • Experience working with security, compliance, or ATO-driven implementations
  • Background in customer success, professional services, or implementation consulting

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
